Whereas Art Nouveau with its luxurious
embellishments, puts nature on a pedestal, a generation later, Art Deco
glorifies the streamlined, mechanical world. As from 1925, geometrical shapes,
clearly defined angles and flat surfaces are central.
Simplicity in abundance
Timeless designs such as these colorful Olivetti's from the beginning of the
nineteen thirties, are created by the consequent use of a simple play of lines.
Isn't it amazing that these machines are three
quarters of a century old?
